Now that school is almost ending and the summer heat is on, get your kids excited and busy by going on a summer getaway. Whether you want to explore old cities or take a trip to the beach, the Philippines surely has something for every family!

Here are the top 7 kid-friendly vacation spots in our country:

Tagaytay City

About 1.5 hours from Metro Manila, Tagaytay City is the perfect place for a short getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. We recommend taking your kids horseback riding then for a picnic right after! The Eye, dubbed as the biggest Ferris wheel is also located in Tagaytay. Take a ride with the whole family and enjoy a 360 view of the city and its neighboring provinces.

Baguio City

Another popular city within the Luzon Island is Baguio City in Benguet. Also known as the City of Pines, it is the perfect destination to cool off from the summer heat! Similar to Tagaytay, there are horseback riding spots and parks for picnicking. It is also perfect if you want to take your family for a food trip! From Filipino to American cuisine to street food, there is surely something for the whole family. Oh, and don’t forget to try the famous strawberry taho!

Once an American Naval Base, Subic Bay is now a Freeport Zone with industrial parks, zoos and aquatic parks and of course, the beach!

One of the all-time favorite amusements parks in the region and an absolute can’t miss for those going to Subic for the first time is the Zoobic Safari Adventure Park. If you have ever wanted to come face to face with a a man eating tiger or go on a safari, then Zoobic serves-up lots of fulfillment for you.

Vigan, Ilocos Norte

Around 10 hours away from the Metro, Vigan is located north of the Luzon Island. Best known for its well-preserved Spanish Colonial and Filipino architecture, it is the perfect place to experience the Philippine culture. Calle Crisologo in Vigan is probably one of the most photographed streets in the country. So make sure to pose for a family picture! Vigan is also a well-known food destination. From empanadas to desserts and of course the Vigan breakfast, it is the best place to let them try something new.

Baler, Aurora

Probably something that wouldn’t come to mind when planning for a family trip is Baler, Aurora—the surfing capital of the Philippines. Apart from taking surfing lessons, Baler also has museums and historical walks where your kids can learn more of our culture. Similar to Vigan, Baler has also well-preserved Spanish Colonial Architecture.

Boracay, Aklan

Arguably the most popular beach in the Philippines, Boracay has risen to be one of the top islands to visit in the Philippines. With its white sand and clear water your kids will surely enjoy a stroll on the beach or quick dip in the water. There are a lot of fun activities for the whole family to: ATV rides, cliff diving, zip line, parasailing and more!

Legazpi City, Albay

Located south of Luzon, Legazpi is around 10 hours away from Manila.  With its parks, ruins and of course, the majestic view of the Mayon Volcano, Legazpi City has more to offer than the just sightseeing. From waterfalls, to black sand beaches and caves, there are a lot of fun activities to choose from! Bicol is also one of the best food destinations in the Philippine (for those who love spicy food)!
